'Marriage of Convenience' is the upcoming exhibition by Patricia Carolina at Papai Contemporary in Oslo. The video material on the show includes ideas on fiction, interviews with a wedding photographer, and other people sharing their experience of migration and marriage. The exhibition includes works made in collaboration with artists Ana María Bermúdez, Paola Jalili and a cake sculpture by Javon Bennett.The project interrogates tensions between state-defined legitimacy and lived realities, where kinship, bastardism and fiction are strategies of survival.
